Buchu comes from open habitats, such as sunlit meadows and forest edges, which supply abundant light. It flourishes in Full Sun but can also endure Partial Sun, demonstrating adaptability to different sunlight conditions.

Buchu tolerates temperature well, handling heat and considerable temperature fluctuations. In hot weather, you should monitor watering and give sufficient shade to avoid sunburn. On the other hand, Buchu is fairly sensitive to cold. It can endure some chill, but overly low temperatures may cause frost damage.

The timing of fertilizing Buchu is important. Apply fertilizer beginning in early spring and then once a month through early summer. Fertilizer promotes attractive blooms and supplies energy during both dormant and active growth periods.
