Aloe microstigma

Aloe microstigma thrives in dry environments due to its exceptional drought resistance. It requires watering only once every three weeks. As an evergreen plant, it efficiently conserves water throughout the year, making it ideal for indoor settings with controlled humidity.

Cape Speckled Aloe is native to areas with dappled light, such as forest understories or rocky spots that offer natural shade. It prefers partial sun but can also endure full sun.

Cape Speckled Aloe grows best in warm conditions and needs higher temperatures during the growing season to support growth and metabolism. It prefers plenty of sunlight, proper moisture, and good air circulation. However, it is vulnerable to harm from very low temperatures and from overwatering. It’s also important to maintain balance and avoid excessive heat and overly dry conditions.

This plant prefers dry conditions, so don't mist it. However, watering it less often can also thrive in higher humidity.

For Cape Speckled Aloe, light doses of fertilizer 1-2 times a year during the growing season are sufficient. Avoid fertilizing in winter and in summer when the plant is dormant. Reduce the amount of fertilizer for repotted plants and wait a couple of months after repotting before applying fertilizer. Fertilizing supports healthy growth and encourages blooms.

To ensure healthy growth, repot your Aloe microstigma every 2-3 years during the warmer seasons. Choose a pot that is one size larger to accommodate root growth. Make sure to use a well-draining container to prevent waterlogging. After you've repotted the plant, place it in a location with bright, indirect light. Resume regular watering when you notice new growth.
