Anthurium pedatoradiatum or Anthurium Fingers is a species of plant in the genus Anthurium native to southern Mexico. A. pedatoradiatum has leaves with deep finger-like sections, and is terrestrial. Its natural habitat is from sea level up to 1,000 meters (3,300 ft) in the Mexican states of Veracruz, Tabasco, and Chiapas. It is related to other Anthurium in the section Schizoplacium such as Anthurium podophyllum, and its species name in Latin refers to the radiating growth of its palm-like leaves.

Care Guide

💧 Water Every 3-7 days

Anthurium fingers flourish in humid conditions and need specific watering routines. During the summer, water the plant twice a week using half a glass of water each time. In the winter, reduce watering to once a week with less than half a glass of water. To prevent soil salinization, use rainwater or distilled water. Keep an eye out for signs of under-watering or over-watering, and take care to avoid getting water on the leaves.

Suggested frequency: Every 3-7 days
☀️ Light Partial sun

Anthurium fingers is native to habitats such as forest understories and rocky areas, where it occurs in natural shade. It prefers partial sun but can adapt to full sun or full shade, demonstrating its versatile and hardy nature.

Ideal: Partial sun
🌡️ Temperature 20–37.8°C

Anthurium fingers comes from tropical areas, where the weather is generally warm and humid. Therefore it is adapted to high heat and moisture. It dislikes abrupt temperature shifts and favors a consistent thermal environment, so preventing temperature swings indoors is important. It typically cannot tolerate cold and needs warmer conditions to grow; if temperatures fall too far, growth may stop or the plant can die.

🌱 Fertilizer

Proper fertilization is essential for Anthurium fingers's health and appearance. Fertilize Anthurium fingers during summer, repeating the application monthly throughout the season. Nutrients support growth and maintain the plant's parts. Fertilization improves Anthurium fingers's flower display, ensuring the best blooms.

🪴 Pot & Repot Once a year

Repot Anthurium fingers in spring or summer when temperatures are warm enough, choosing a slightly larger pot with good drainage. After repotting, water thoroughly and place the plant in bright, indirect light. Consider adding a moss pole to support the plant as it grows.

Suggested frequency: Once a year
✂️ Pruning

Promptly remove any yellow or dying flowers and leaves from anthurium fingers. This will prevent nutrient depletion and encourage the growth of new foliage and blooms.
