Asarum caudatum (British Columbia wild ginger, western wild ginger, or long-tailed wild ginger) is a plant native to rich moist forests of western North America. It has heart-shaped leaves and a three-lobed purplish flower.

🌳 The British Columbia wild ginger is an excellent choice for a border or ground cover plant due to its ability to form dense mats of intriguing foliage. Its heart-shaped, evergreen leaves add visual interest to shady rock and woodland gardens throughout the year, including winter. This plant is relatively easy to cultivate and is also resistant to deer.
