Care Guide
💧 Water
☀️ Light Full sun
Native to dry areas, the Carnivorous bromeliad thrives in full sun; its native habitat is marked by intense sunlight and very little shade. It will also tolerate partial sun, providing some flexibility in its growth.
🌡️ Temperature 20–37.8°C
The carnivorous bromeliad does best in warm conditions. If temperatures fall too low, the plant may stop growing or sustain frost damage. It tolerates high heat and humidity well and needs a steady level of moisture in its surroundings. Nevertheless, excessively high temperatures and humidity can increase its risk of fungal infection. In dry settings, routine watering and misting are required to keep air humidity adequate. The plant is vulnerable to sudden temperature swings, so keeping the temperature relatively steady is important.

🌱 Fertilizer
For carnivorous bromeliads, light applications of fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season are sufficient. Do not fertilize in winter or summer when the plant is dormant. Reduce fertilizer for recently repotted plants and wait a couple of months after repotting before fertilizing. Fertilizing supports healthy growth and encourages blooming.
🪴 Pot & Repot 2-3 years
When repotting a carnivorous bromeliad, pick a pot 1-2 inches (2.5–5.1 cm) larger that provides good drainage. Use a well-draining potting mix. Repot in spring or fall, making sure the root ball sits slightly below the rim of the flower pot. Water thoroughly after repotting and keep the plant in a warm spot with indirect sunlight.
