Black storm shows good resistance to disease and is generally not prone to illnesses. In terms of care, this plant is fairly low-maintenance. When planted outdoors it requires minimal watering, and larger plants usually do not need pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be pruned after they have finished blooming. CARE GUIDE

How to keep Cadaba Aphylla.

Light

Black storm occurs in open habitats, such as sunny meadows and forest edges, which offer abundant light. It does best in Full Sun but will tolerate Partial Sun, adapting well to different light conditions.

Temperature

Black storm comes from tropical areas, where the climate is generally warm and humid. Consequently, it is adapted to high temperatures and moisture. It is sensitive to abrupt temperature shifts and prefers a consistent thermal environment, so avoiding temperature fluctuations indoors is important. It typically does not tolerate cold and needs warmer conditions to grow. If the surrounding temperature falls too low, the plant may stop growing or even die.

Fertilizer

Fertilization is essential for the care of Black Storm. Regular feeding during the growing season maintains energy for its showy foliage and supports overall growth. Skipping fertilization can produce unhealthy leaves, reduce its ornamental appeal, and cause stunted or weak growth that is more susceptible to breaking.

Pruning

The Black Storm plant has leafless, thorny branches and thrives in arid climates. To promote growth, prune any dead branches in early spring. Every few years, you should also shape the plant. Regular pruning can help improve airflow and reduce the risk of pests. Always use sterilized tools when pruning to prevent disease.
