Dendropanax arboreus, commonly known as the tree panax or American dendropanax, is a species of flowering plant in the Araliaceae family. Native to Central and South America, it can be found in countries such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela. The tree panax can grow up to 20 meters tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 50 centimeters. It features large, palmately compound leaves with five ovate or elliptic leaflets. The leaves are dark green on top and lighter green underneath. During late summer or early fall, the tree panax produces small white flowers that grow in clusters at the ends of branches. These flowers give way to small black berries that contain seeds.
