Diospyros montana, the Bombay ebony, is a small deciduous tree in the ebony family up to 15 metres (49 ft) tall, distributed all along the Western Ghats of India, Sri Lanka, Indo-China through to Australia.

Diospyros olen demonstrates good resistance to disease and is generally unlikely to suffer from illnesses. In terms of care, this plant is relatively low maintenance. When grown outdoors it needs minimal watering, and larger specimens typically do not require pruning. However, smaller plants should be pruned after they flower. Diospyros olent is suitable for anyone with an outdoor area, such as a garden or deck, and does not demand extensive care experience.
