Sansevieria ehrenbergii is native to the understory of tropical forests, growing well in full shade with some dappled sunlight and able to adapt to areas with minimal direct sun.

Sansevieria ehrenbergii prefers warm conditions and requires relatively high temperatures during the growing season to support its growth and metabolic activity. It likes ample sunlight, suitable moisture, and good air circulation. However, it is vulnerable to harm from very low temperatures and from excessive watering. It's also important to maintain balance and avoid extreme heat or overly dry conditions.

For Sansevieria ehrenbergii, apply light doses of fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season. Do not fertilize in winter or in summer when the plant is dormant. Cut back on fertilizer for repotted plants and wait a couple of months after repotting before feeding. Fertilizing helps maintain healthy growth and promotes blooming.

When repotting Sansevieria ehrenbergii, choose a pot just a bit larger than the current one that has adequate drainage. Use a gritty, well-draining succulent or cactus mix. Gently lift the plant out of its old container, brush off excess soil, and set it back in at the same depth. Wait a few days before watering to allow any root injury to heal. Repot in spring or fall and place it in a brightly lit location.
