Slenderleaf sundew is native to habitats that receive abundant sunlight, such as open bogs and sunny wetlands. It prefers full sun but can also tolerate partial sun.

Slenderleaf sundew does best in moderate temperatures, similar to those most people find comfortable. It thrives in conditions that are neither too hot nor too cold. The main problem with high temperatures is the risk of sunburn, so providing some shade in summer is advisable to prevent excessive heat. When temperatures fall, Slenderleaf sundew enters dormancy. If continuous growth is desired, higher temperatures must be maintained during winter. Frost can damage the plant and should be avoided.

When repotting a Slenderleaf sundew, select a pot 1–2 inches (2.5–5.1 cm) larger that has good drainage. Use a well-draining potting mix. Repot in spring or fall, making sure the root ball sits slightly lower than the rim of the flower pot. Water thoroughly after repotting and place it in a warm spot with indirect sunlight.

The slenderleaf sundew requires minimal pruning to thrive. In early spring, gently remove any dead leaves to encourage healthy growth. Be careful not to prune heavily, as this can stress the plant. Regularly check for overcrowding to improve air circulation and sunlight exposure, which will boost the plant's vigor and support its natural growth patterns.
