Echeveria longissima
Care Guide
💧 Water
☀️ Light Full sun
Originating in dry regions, Echeveria longissima performs best in full sun, as its native habitat has intense sunlight and very little shade. It will also tolerate partial sun, providing some flexibility in its growth.
🌡️ Temperature 20–37.8°C
Although Echeveria longissima can tolerate some heat, it grows best in cooler seasons and goes dormant in summer. In very hot weather it should be shaded to avoid leaf scorch from strong sunlight. Watering should be cut back or paused during the hottest period to prevent root rot. Winter and spring are its most vigorous growth times, and as long as temperatures do not drop too far it will continue to grow steadily.

🌱 Fertilizer
For Echeveria longissima, light applications of fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season are adequate. Avoid fertilizing in winter and in summer when it is dormant. Cut back on feeding for plants that have been repotted and wait a couple of months after repotting before applying fertilizer. Fertilizing helps maintain healthy growth and encourages flowering.
🪴 Pot & Repot Every 2 years
When repotting Echeveria longissima, choose a pot just a bit larger than the current one that provides good drainage. Use a gritty, well-draining succulent or cactus mix. Gently remove the plant from its old container, brush away excess soil, and set it at the same planting depth. Wait a few days before watering so any root injury can heal. Repot in spring or fall and place it in a brightly lit spot.
