It is native to the sandy areas of the coasts of the western Mediterranean region from Spain east to southern France and Italy, including the Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily. The plant requires dry air and exposure to the sun. The flowers have five sepals. Zygomorphous corolla of 12–22 millimetres (0.47–0.87 in) in width and has five petals. The plant blooms in the end of April and can bloom again in the autumn months with favourable weather.
Sand viper's gloss has strong disease resistance and is generally not prone to illnesses. Still, it can be affected by pests and diseases present in its environment. Such infections tend to be mild. Regarding care, this plant needs a moderate level of maintenance. It should be pruned regularly to preserve a tidy appearance and support healthy growth. Fertilizing can also aid in encouraging blooms. Sand viper's gloss is suitable for anyone with outdoor space, like a garden or patio, and does not require much care experience. It may demand more attention when cultivated indoors.
How to keep Echium Sabulicola.
Light
Sand viper's gloss is a perennial herbaceous plant that prefers sunny conditions and originates from open habitats, commonly growing in meadows and grasslands. It favors full sun but can also tolerate partial sun.
Temperature
Sand viper's gloss can adjust to a broad range of temperatures, though its range may still be constrained by various combinations of moisture and heat. It does best in warm summer conditions with sufficient rainfall or watering. Extended stretches of overcast, rainy weather or prolonged high heat can raise the chance of Sand viper's gloss dying. In winter, shielding it properly from the cold can boost its chances of survival.
Fertilizer
One fertilizer application in spring is generally adequate for Sand viper's gloss, but repeated feedings can enhance growth. Apply fertilizer every month to one and a half months. Fertilization improves the leaves' appearance and function, helping maintain even color and a healthy texture. It also promotes root development and nutrient uptake for long-term plant health.
