Euphorbia baioensis

Euphorbia baioensis, indigenous to dry areas, does best in full sun, as its native habitat has intense sunlight and scarce shade. It can also tolerate partial sun, providing some flexibility in its growth.

Although Euphorbia baioensis tolerates some heat, it primarily thrives and grows in cooler seasons and becomes dormant in summer. In hot summer temperatures, provide shade to avoid scorching from strong sunlight. Watering should be reduced or stopped during the hottest season to prevent root rot. Euphorbia baioensis grows vigorously in winter and spring, and as long as temperatures do not drop too low, it will continue to grow steadily.

For Euphorbia baioensis, apply light amounts of fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season. Do not fertilize in winter or in summer when the plant is dormant. Use less fertilizer for plants that have been repotted and wait a couple of months after repotting before you start fertilizing. Fertilizing promotes healthy growth and helps encourage blooms.
