Care Guide

💧 Water

Saxaul is ideal for arid environments because of its drought tolerance, needing watering only every 2-3 weeks. It thrives best outdoors, where it develops deep root systems for efficient water use. This characteristic aligns with its natural adaptations for conserving moisture.

☀️ Light Full sun

Saxaul comes from open habitats, for example sunny meadows and the edges of forests, where plenty of light is available. It does best in Full Sun but will also tolerate Partial Sun, showing good adaptability to different light conditions.

Ideal: Full sun
🌡️ Temperature 15–35°C

Saxaul shows strong adaptability to different climate conditions, whether scorching summers or chilly winters. However, it has an optimal temperature range for growth. When temperatures become excessively high, the plant is susceptible to heat and humidity stress, which can cause its death. In regions where temperatures approach the lower limit of its cold tolerance, it is important to implement insulation measures to protect the plant.

🌱 Fertilizer

Fertilize your Saxaul in early spring to encourage healthy growth. Regular feeding boosts its overall health, producing vigorous growth, greater hardiness in adverse conditions, and improved resistance to pests and diseases. Follow a consistent fertilization schedule to maintain foliage that is vibrant, richly colored, and lush in appearance.

🪴 Pot & Repot
✂️ Pruning

Saxaul is a resilient and salt-tolerant plant that benefits from pruning, which is best done from early to late winter. Pruning during this time encourages healthy spring growth, enhances the plant's overall health, and improves its appearance. To prevent disease, use sterilized tools when pruning. Additionally, ensure good air circulation within the canopy to promote optimal growth.
