Care Guide

💧 Water
☀️ Light Partial sun

Haworthia marumiana comes from habitats with dappled light, such as the forest understory or rocky sites that provide natural shade. It prefers partial sun, though it can tolerate full sun as well.

Ideal: Partial sun
🌡️ Temperature 20–37.8°C

Although Haworthia marumiana can tolerate some heat, it mainly does well and grows in the cooler months and becomes dormant in summer. In very hot summer conditions it should be given shade to avoid scorching from strong sunlight. Watering should be reduced or paused during the hottest period to prevent root rot. Winter and spring are when Haworthia marumiana grows most vigorously. As long as temperatures do not fall too low, it will continue to grow steadily.

🌱 Fertilizer

For Haworthia marumiana, light applications of fertilizer 1–2 times a year during the growing season are sufficient. Do not fertilize in winter or summer when the plant is dormant. Reduce the amount of fertilizer for repotted plants and wait a couple of months after repotting before you resume fertilizing. Fertilizing supports healthy growth and encourages blooms.

🪴 Pot & Repot Every 2 years

When repotting Haworthia marumiana, choose a pot a bit bigger than the current container with adequate drainage. Use a gritty, well-draining cactus or succulent mix. Gently remove the plant from its old pot, brush away excess soil, and plant it at the same depth. Wait a few days before watering so any root damage can heal. Repot in spring or autumn and keep it in a brightly lit spot.
