Care Guide

💧 Water
☀️ Light Full shade

Canada rush is found in settings such as forest understories or rocky areas that offer natural shade. It prefers Full Shade but can tolerate Partial Sun.

Ideal: Full shade
🌡️ Temperature 0–35°C

Canada rush tolerates a wide range of temperatures, though its distribution can still be restricted by different combinations of water and heat. It does best in warm summer climates with sufficient rainfall or watering. Extended periods of cloudy, rainy weather, as well as prolonged high temperatures, can increase the likelihood of Canada rush dying. In winter, proper protection from cold can raise the plant's survival rate.

🌱 Fertilizer

Canada rush needs extra nutrients to encourage healthy new growth. In spring, applying compost around the plant's base will effectively supply the nutrition it requires. Fertilizing supports vigorous growth and improves the plant's resistance to diseases and pests.

🪴 Pot & Repot
✂️ Pruning

The Canada rush is characterized by its tall, grass-like stems and dense clumps. To promote healthy growth and maintain its shape, it's best to prune the plant in early spring by removing any dead stems. Trimming older clumps also helps enhance the plant's vitality. Be sure to use clean, sharp tools to minimize stress and reduce the risk of disease, as well as to control the plant's spread.
