Care Guide

☀️ Light Full sun

Juniperus oxycedrus subsp. oxycedrus originates from open habitats like bright fields and woodland borders, where light is plentiful. It flourishes in full sunlight but can also withstand partial sunlight, demonstrating a good adaptation to different levels of sunlight exposure.

Ideal: Full sun
🌡️ Temperature 15–35°C

Juniperus oxycedrus subsp. oxycedrus exhibits superior adaptability to diverse weather situations, from intense summer heat to cold winter months. Nevertheless, there's an optimal temperature zone for its growth. If temperatures rise too high, the plant can experience heat and humidity stress, which can lead to its death. In areas where temperatures near the plant's cold tolerance lower limit, it's crucial to use insulation methods to safeguard the plant.

🌱 Fertilizer

The sub-species Juniperus oxycedrus subsp. oxycedrus has distinctive nutritional needs and does not require abundant fertilization. The best time to apply fertilizer for maximum growth is during the spring. Nutrient supplementation enhances its vigor, strengthens its defenses against pests and illnesses, and contributes to its prolonged longevity.
