Kleinia anteuphorbium

Kleinia anteuphorbium flourishes in arid environments, exhibiting remarkable drought tolerance. It requires minimal watering—about once every three weeks—and should be planted in well-drained soil to prevent root rot. This is particularly important during the growing season when the plant is exposed to intense sunlight.

Kleinia anteuphorbium, native to dry areas, does best in full sun, its natural habitat marked by intense sunlight and very little shade. It can also tolerate partial sun, providing some flexibility in its growth.

Although Kleinia anteuphorbium can tolerate some heat, it chiefly does best and grows during the cooler months and becomes dormant in summer. In very hot summer conditions, it should be given shade to avoid scorching from intense sunlight. Watering should be cut back or stopped during the hottest period to prevent root rot. Winter and spring are the times when Kleinia anteuphorbium shows vigorous growth, and provided temperatures do not fall too low, it will continue to grow steadily.

For Kleinia anteuphorbium, small amounts of fertilizer applied once or twice a year during the active growing season are enough. Do not fertilize in winter or summer while the plant is dormant. Use less fertilizer for plants that have been repotted, and wait a couple of months after repotting before you start fertilizing. Fertilization helps maintain healthy growth and promotes flowering.
