CARE GUIDE

How to keep Penstemon Laetus.

Fertilizer

Usually one spring application of fertilizer is enough for Gay penstemon, but repeated feedings can maximize growth. Apply every month to six weeks. Fertilizing improves the leaves' appearance and function, helping maintain even color and a healthy texture. It also promotes root development and nutrient uptake for long-term plant health.

Pruning

The Gay Penstemon is known for its vibrant tubular flowers that attract pollinators. To maintain its health, prune in early spring by removing any dead stems and trimming back last year's growth by one-third. Regular deadheading helps extend the blooming period and keeps the plant from becoming leggy or diseased, ensuring a strong presence in your garden.

Pot & Repot

For gay penstemon to thrive and remain healthy, it is crucial to provide excellent drainage in its pots.
