☀️ Light Partial sun
Philodendron mexicanum is native to habitats like forest understories and rocky sites, where it grows in natural shade. It prefers partial sun but can tolerate full sun or full shade, showing its versatile and hardy nature.
🌡️ Temperature 20–37.8°C
Philodendron mexicanum comes from tropical regions where the climate is generally warm and humid. Consequently, it is well adapted to high temperatures and humidity. It does not tolerate sudden temperature changes and prefers a stable temperature environment, so it is important to avoid temperature fluctuations indoors. It usually cannot withstand cold temperatures and requires higher temperatures for growth. If the temperature drops too low, the plant may stop growing or even die.

🌱 Fertilizer
Philodendron mexicanum needs the most fertilizer during its active growth period, which takes place mainly in spring, summer, and early fall. Applying fertilizer supplies essential nutrients the soil may lack, encouraging healthy root and stem growth and attractive foliage, a key characteristic of this plant.
🪴 Pot & Repot Once a year
Repot Philodendron mexicanum in spring or summer once it’s warm enough, choosing a slightly bigger pot that drains well. Water it thoroughly after repotting and set it in a spot with bright, indirect light. As the plant grows, consider using a moss pole for support.
