Originating in arid regions, Ogonchu performs best in full sun, its native habitat marked by intense sunlight and little shade. It also tolerates partial sun, giving it some flexibility in how it grows.

Ogonchu does best in warm conditions and needs higher temperatures during the growing season to support growth and metabolism. It prefers abundant sunlight, proper moisture levels, and good airflow. However, it can be damaged by very low temperatures and by too much watering. Maintaining balance is important — avoid both excessively high heat and overly dry conditions.

Ogonchu only needs light applications of fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season. Avoid fertilizing in winter or in summer when it is dormant. Reduce fertilizer for repotted plants and wait a couple of months after repotting before applying any. Fertilizing promotes healthy growth and encourages blooms.
