Platanus × acerifolia, Platanus × hispanica, or hybrid plane, is a tree in the genus Platanus. It is often known by the synonym London plane, or London planetree. It is usually thought to be a hybrid of Platanus orientalis (oriental plane) and Platanus occidentalis (American sycamore). Some authorities think that it may be a cultivar of P. orientalis.

🌳 Often mistaken for merely another street tree, the london Plane conceals its true abilities beneath its bark. Acting as a powerful urban air cleanser, the london Plane's ample leaves capture and neutralize airborne contaminants. This trait makes it an excellent choice for city landscaping. Although not widely used, the london Plane's wood serves for medium-grade furniture and artistic turnings, appealing to hobbyists with its tightly packed grain and rich color that polishes to an eye-catching shine.
