Plectritis congesta

The shortspur seablush does best in places where it can get plenty of sunlight, which strongly influences its healthy growth. Originating from habitats with abundant sun exposure, it performs poorly in shaded or dim conditions. Both excessive sun and too little sunlight can detrimentally affect the plant.

Shortspur seablush can tolerate a wide range of temperatures, but its distribution may still be constrained by various combinations of water and heat. It does best in warm summer conditions with sufficient rainfall or watering. Extended periods of cloudy, rainy weather or prolonged high temperatures can increase the chance of Shortspur seablush dying. In winter, adequate protection from cold can improve the plant's survival rate.

When most of Shortspur seablush's blooms have opened to full size, resume fertilizing. During the period when blooms are at peak production, fertilize once every three to four weeks, weather permitting. Then, once Shortspur seablush begins to produce fewer new blooms, stop fertilizing; there is no need to fertilize when the plant can no longer produce more blooms.
