Native to dry areas, cliff-dwelling stonecrop flourishes in full sun; its natural habitat is marked by intense sunlight and scarce shade. It will also tolerate partial sun, giving it some flexibility in its growth.

Cliff-dwelling stonecrop does best in warm conditions and needs relatively high temperatures during the growing season to support growth and metabolic activity. It prefers abundant sunlight, proper moisture, and good airflow. However, it can be damaged by very low temperatures and by overwatering. It's also important to maintain balance and avoid excessively high temperatures and overly dry conditions.

For cliff-dwelling stonecrop, small amounts of fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season are adequate. Avoid fertilizing in winter or in summer when the plant is dormant. Reduce fertilizer for plants that have been repotted and wait a couple of months after repotting before applying any. Fertilizing helps support healthy growth and promotes flowering.
