Senna wislizeni, commonly called Wislizenus' senna or shrubby senna, is a species of legume. Formerly in the wastebin taxon Cassia sensu lato, it is now placed in the genus Senna or sometimes separated in Palmerocassia together with Senna unijuga.
Wislizenus' senna has strong disease resistance and is usually not vulnerable to illnesses. In terms of upkeep, this plant is comparatively low-maintenance. Planted outdoors, it needs only minimal watering, and larger specimens typically do not require pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be pruned after they finish blooming. Wislizenus' sennat is appropriate for anyone with outdoor space, such as a garden or deck, and does not demand a lot of care experience.
How to keep Senna Wislizeni.
Light
Wislizenus' senna is native to open habitats like bright meadows and woodland boundaries that offer plenty of sunlight. It flourishes in Full Sun yet is also capable of enduring Partial Sun, showing good adaptation to diverse levels of sunlight.
Temperature
Senna Wislizenus originates from regions with tropical climates that are typically characterized by warmth and humidity. It has naturally adapted to thrive in hot and humid conditions and does not fare well when subjected to abrupt temperature shifts. It prefers maintaining a consistent temperature, hence it's crucial to avoid any fluctuations in indoor temperatures. Normally, it finds it hard to bear cold temperatures and needs a warmer climate for its growth. When the environmental temperature falls excessively, it can halt the plant's growth or might even cause its death.
Fertilizer
The best period to apply fertilizer to a Wislizenus' senna is at the onset of spring when it awakens from inactivity. This enhances the overall growth and the progression of the flowers. The process of fertilization amplifies the quality of the leaves, stems, and branches, while encouraging the growth of big, brilliant and durable flowers. It assists in the transportation of nutrients from the roots to the blossoms and boosts the wellbeing of the plant and its ability to resist illnesses.
