Description

Source: leafsnap

Teucrium canadense, commonly known as Canada germander, American germander or wood sage, is a perennial herb in the family Lamiaceae. It is native to North America where it is found across the contiguous states of the United States and in much of Canada.

🌳 American germander is a valuable native plant in the U.S., often found near streambanks, pond edges, and in native plant gardens. Throughout the summer, it produces spikes of attractive flowers. However, its most notable feature is its foliage. The upright, narrow, lance-shaped leaves offer visual contrast in the landscape and emit a pleasant aromatic scent.
