Still, overly high temperature and humidity levels can leave the plant vulnerable to fungal infections. In dry settings, regular watering and misting are required to keep the air sufficiently humid. The plant is sensitive to abrupt temperature changes, so maintaining a fairly steady temperature is important.

For Gigantea, light applications of fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season are adequate. Avoid fertilizing in winter and in summer when the plant is dormant.
