A note from PlantMom

Agrostis alpina is well resistant to disease and is generally not prone to illnesses. In terms of care, this plant is fairly low-maintenance. When grown outdoors it needs only minimal watering, and larger specimens typically do not require pruning. Smaller specimens, however, should be pruned after they have finished blooming. Agrostis alpinat is suitable for anyone with an outdoor area, such as a garden or deck, and does not demand a great deal of care experience.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Agrostis Rupestris.

Pruning

Rock bent plants have slender stems and fine tufts. They benefit from yearly pruning in early spring, which encourages new growth. When pruning, trim one-third of the length to remove any dead material. Be sure to use clean tools to prevent the spread of disease. Regular pruning also improves air circulation and helps manage the plant's spread in gardens.
