ON THIS PLANT

Aloe albiflora is a species of aloe indigenous to Madagascar with narrow, muricate leaves and widely campanulate, snow-white flowers that are 10mm long and 14mm across the mouth. Its nearest affinity, based on leaf characters only, is Aloe bellatula.

A note from PlantMom

Aloe albiflora has strong disease resistance and is unlikely to become ill with normal care. It is also not easily affected by most pests and diseases. In terms of maintenance, Aloe albiflora is drought-tolerant and can withstand long periods without watering. It needs little fertilizer and generally does not require pruning. This makes it suitable for people of all experience levels, especially those who prefer to spend less time tending their plants. It is a good option for people who are away for long periods and may forget to water their plants regularly.

CARE GUIDE

How to keep Aloe Albiflora.

Light

Aloe albiflora is native to habitats with dappled light, such as the understory of forests or rocky areas that provide natural shade. It prefers partial sun but can also tolerate full sun.

Temperature

Aloe albiflora performs best in warm conditions and needs higher temperatures during the growing season to encourage growth and metabolic processes. It prefers abundant sunlight, proper moisture levels, and good air circulation. However, it is prone to harm from temperatures that are too low and from overwatering. Maintaining a balance is important, and one should also avoid excessively high temperatures and overly dry conditions.

Fertilizer

Aloe albiflora needs light applications of fertilizer once or twice a year during the growing season. Do not fertilize in winter or in summer when the plant is dormant. Use less fertilizer for plants that have been repotted, and wait a couple of months after repotting before you start feeding. Fertilizing helps maintain healthy growth and promotes flowering.
