ON THIS PLANT

Gentiana pannonica, the brown gentian or Hungarian gentian (German: Ostalpen-Enzian, Pannonischer Enzian, Ungarischer Enzian or Ungarn-Enzian), is a species of flowering plant of the genus Gentiana in the family of Gentianaceae.

A note from PlantMom

Brown gentian is resistant to disease and is generally not susceptible to illnesses. Regarding care, this plant is fairly low-maintenance. When grown outdoors it needs little water, and larger specimens typically do not require pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be trimmed after they have finished blooming. Brown gentian is suitable for anyone with an outdoor area, such as a garden or a deck, and does not demand extensive care experience.
