ON THIS PLANT

Planchonella latihila is a species of plant in the family Sapotaceae. It is endemic to New Caledonia. As with other plants in the same genus, it possesses stamens that are located below (and rarely in) the tube orifice; a multi-seeded fruit, as well as foliaceous cotyledons embedded in endosperm.

A note from PlantMom

Planchonella latihila is fairly disease-resistant and generally does not tend to get sick. In terms of care, this plant is relatively low-maintenance. When grown outdoors it needs only light watering, and larger plants typically do not require pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be pruned after they finish blooming. Planchonella latihilat is suitable for anyone with an outdoor space, such as a garden or deck, and does not require much experience in plant care.
