ON THIS PLANT

Carex brachystachys is a species of sedge found in the mountains of central and southern Europe.

A note from PlantMom

Short-spiked sedge is resistant to disease and typically does not suffer from illnesses. As for maintenance, this plant is fairly low-maintenance. When grown outdoors it needs only light watering, and larger plants usually do not require pruning. Smaller plants, however, should be trimmed after they finish blooming. Short-spiked sedge is appropriate for anyone with outdoor space, such as a garden or deck, and does not demand much gardening experience.
